Who is India's enemy No. 1: Pakistan or China?........Public Platform

Zopag News Network

New Delhi, July 29: Hostile neighbours have been India’s bane all along. Although surprising for a country known for peace and devoid of any imperialistic designs. Despite being the Big Brother in South Asia region, India has never bullied any of its neighbours.

But that has not deterred our neighbours who have been relentlessly targeting India over decades. We can choose our friends and enemies, but not our neighbours. India has to live with its neighbours whether we like it or not.

But we can’t afford to be careless and need to have a watchful eye on all the neighbouring countries.

Not a single country surrounding India can be considered as friendly. It’s ironical that even Bangladesh shows animosity towards us. Several of our brave soldiers have lost their lives in the formation of Bangladesh. Nepal, the only Hindu country has on several occasions indulged in anti-India activities.

But the real worry and the source of constant headache for India are Pakistan and China. The lesser said the better about these two countries. Now it’s high time we adopt a comprehensive strategy to deal with these troublesome neighbours.

India has to get its priorities right and counter these countries depending on the threat perception.

The hostile nature of Pakistan and China is known to one and all. But zopag.com asks the readers: Whom do you consider as India’s enemy No. 1: Pakistan or China?

CHINA ENEMY # 1 by Capt. Sumant Bhalla on 2009-08-06 00:00:00
Pakistan is irrelevant. China is ENEMY Numero uno - and we better wake up and recognize this reality.

policy towards our neighbour by d.choudhury on 2009-08-06 00:00:00
It is absolutely wrong to grade countries in certain order while measuring a foreign country's postures towards us. Because animosity or friendliness can not be measured in pure numerical terms.Animosity or friendliness again are relative terms in international relations. National interests do clash sometimes and complements at other times. Therefore while managing our foreign policy, we are to take a wide view of the whole scenario around us. A flexible and dynamic management of our foreign relation without being any rigid attitude towards any country will pay us in long term.

Pakistan is a failed State and if not for undue and excessive support from USA, it would have collapsed long ago.China is a real danger for India, and their first step of encroachment started way back in 1963, and since then they have been moving step by step.Congress Government is just dishonest are trying to conceal the facts from the Public.China appears to be preparing to take over the entire North East of India.

China ofcourse. India can swipe Pakistan in a week or 10 days but China remainsa constant sword at your neck. China also always maintains an arrogant posture against India. While Pakistan is predictable that they will do stupid things, China is unpredictable. It probably results from China's lack of measuring up against USA which it continuosly tries. The only language they understand is $. India should stop trading.

It is not Pakistan or china may be considered as India's enemy N 1 but it is the country's uncontrolable corruptions and unless the nation is liberated from nation wide corruption India will have to face always internal and external problems . We may have made some sort of economic progress but on other side the same economic progress is being eaten by our corrupted politcal leaders. In India you can buy even the supreme court judges and police inspectors through briefing them in mid-night. Let us now at least take some sort of measures to introduce birth control like in china and singapore because the uncontrolable growing population will remain as a barrier or block on our economic and social progress and special law on corruption. so let us judge India's number one enemy is Pakistan but at the same time let us not to forget the himalaya size of corruption all over the India is more dangerous than these Pakis or china.

Who is number 1 enemy Pakistan by KathirGaman on 2009-08-03 00:00:00
It is true that our economic progress were being blocked since our independence and partition due to constant headache from both countries- China and Pakistan. The worst is coming from Pakistan. From the very first day that Pakis culprit Jinnah who demanded a separate nation called to-day terrorist nation Pakistan India was forced to waste her energy on two wars with Pakistan and it is still going on throuhg various terroirst activities in Kashmire , our remaining from the whole lot of Kashmir and other terrorists activities in bombay and other Indo-pakistan borders. So Pakistan will always remain as our number one enemy. To fight with these two countries India need a strong economic and social progress. In the social progress India has a lot to do. We must have a strong birth control to contain the growing population.Every family must have only two or three children and we can offer them a better education. Second the corruption. Unless we have a tough law to punish those who pratice corruption India cannot make progress in economic and social life.Central Gouvernment can not this without the cooperation from every state. If we can stop these two things one is Birth control and other oneis tough law against corruption. Any candidate who is involved into corruption should be banned from all activities on politics and he should be legally punished. These are the main obstacles for to-day's India . Indo-Pakistan border should be strickly controlled to stop smuggling Indian foods to Pakistan. A strong economic with proper controlled population can beat these two countries specially the ungrateful Pakistan. Pakistan may be or will be our first enemy but we should all focus on our growing economic progress and birth control law should be imposed to stop the growing population.

India's Enemy by Satish Sinha on 2009-08-02 00:00:00
As someone has rightly stated we Indians are idiots. We have no self respect and history is proof we are united as long as we are ruled by others or so to say dexciplined by other invaders. The invaders come, rule and loot the country with the help of handful of local thugs and after one or two century of foreign rule we will liberate ourself for about 50-60 years when someone else will like to take a bite of "mera bharat mahaan". You are surrounded by all enemies two of them promoting religious terrorism against India and unfortunately our own muslims (second largest muslim community in world) not coming out openly against them on a regular basis. Coming to the question "who is India's enemy # 1 China or Pak". Well the answer is both are tied up at #1. The only way to deal with them is keep 1000 nuclear warheads aimed at each one of them from some secret location (though I doubt we can keep anything secret as someone in defense will seel the secret to these enemy nations or some private TV channel will reveal it for some cheap publicity ). It reminds me two sayings I had heard when I was young. 1. "A weak nation has no voice". 2. "God only helps those who help themselves". It is time Indian politicians understand this else their next generation too will be ruled by an invading nation. JAI HIND.

Who is India's enemy Number 1? by Kathir Gaman on 2009-08-02 00:00:00
The constant headaches that India has since Independence are China who is still demanding our Territory (Arunasala Predesh??) and the second ungrateful culprit Pakisant( Pakis)) who is still demanding our own territory Kashmir. If you take one Pakis from Pakistan and another Hindu from India both are same physically and both are Indo- Europeans. But still , I feel that India has more troubles from these Pakis or Pakistan than china another race and another country.Afterall all these Pakis generation are first coming from India before the partition. We did a biggest mistake by accepting Dalai Lama and we have been paying heavy prices imposed on us by china through Pakistan by helping them to modernise all nuclear weapons with modern weapons and long range missiles. Jinnah the worst Pakis culprit who cheated our Gandhi for the Partition and gave away a big part of Kashmire( legally indian territory before the partition ) to china as a gift in exchange of military aide against India!!! China did not come to help Pakistan due to our long and traditional close relationship with former Soviet Russia.( Soviet federation ). Now the Pakis are demanding our last remaining Kashmire. We had to sacrify our economy and men on two wars with these ungrateful Pakisin vain. What a wastage of our economy. If we had not these two wars with Pakis, we could have more improved our present economy but unfortunately our forwarding path is being blocked by these ungrateful Pakis and they will always try through various ways to block our economic progress because they are jelous with India. They hate India's growing economic progress and India's reputation all over the world. Our Indian students go abroad to have higher studies but these pakis students go abroad to pratice terrorism ( still going on in UK -London )and we have also Indian Muslims( unfortunately ) who behave very often like their brothers in Pakistan against India ( their mother country ? ) So Pakistan will always remain as our number 1 enemy and there is not doubt at all. They can change their cap within 24 hours for money. Let us all remember once again how Jinnah( the worst Pakis culprit ) cheated our great leader Mahatma Gandhi after taking a cup of tea and sharing meals with him !!!! To-day we are all paying due to this Pakis Jinnah. Therefore it is not china but it is Pakistan or Pakis is our number one enemy.

I agree with a lot of the comments. Pakistan is an enemy, China even bigger but biggest is India's attitude and response to external threats. If we are so relaxed, no wonder everyone from the the Greeks to the Mongols to the Mughals to the Brits walked in so easily. Culturally a nation of baniyas..we are more interested in cash than honour. We dont take the long term view, hell we cant even recognise what we are about. India has a lot to learn about itself and its place in the world. We can be a major player but we choose to play small.

INDIA HAS MORE TO LOSE WITH PAKISTAN AS WE HAVE A LOT MORE TO GAIN FROM THE FUTURE IN TERMS OF OUR PLACE IN THE WORLD ECONOMY AND WITH IMPROVING BILATERAL TRADE WITH THE 180 MILLION PAKISTANIS.

HUMILITY! by James Azad on 2009-07-31 00:00:00
Pakistan is made up of people who became Muslims through covinience, force or shame and helplessness. It is therefoe no surprise that an element of hate partly from self hate makes them easy handles to harrass India with nominal payments from China. The bigest enemy of India is Indians who just do not have that will to stand tall with some dignity and ability to say enough. The man who had the courage to do so was shot down by a fellow Hindu Indian. Now his lessons are conviniently ignored or distorted.Indians will soon be learning Mandarin in order to pay obescience to China which will soon determine its foregn policy as many of the nations of South Asia and South East Asia do.Indians should find it easy as they have done so for thousands of years.

Hindus were ruled by muslims until Britishers kicked them out and ruled us. Pakistan still thinks that muslims should control India and will not live in peace with India. China is merely using Pakistan to harass India. India and China has no cultural amamosity and can settle the differences with negotiations.

Any oraganized force is a potential enemy of disorganized people. If tomorrow the Sony corporation, The Pepsicola company, bid pharmaceutical companies are allowed to raise their own army, navy and air-force, they will also feature in the list of India`s possible enemy. Our enemies are our lack of consolidation power, lack of unity, self hatred (leading to xenophobia, inter-religion, inter-cast, inter province rivalries). Our actual enemies are those who speak against virtues like patriotism, love for the neighbour etc. In the name of progressive values and ways of looking at things they are weakening us as a people with a long heritage. These people are usually amply rewarded by our potential enemies in the form of academic recognition, money at foreign banks, good media support etc. Look at what these people are doing, are they inciting one group against another, are they inventing new history of wrong doing, are the celebrating events that separate communities. They are the main threats, neither the Pakistani people nor the Chinese people, they are happy with peacefull lives, bit of healthcare and occasional recreations.

Every goernment in US has done it...including Obama's. Recently a pro Indian congressman spoke against Indian militarisation. Later he apologised for the comment. This is a prime example of what you say and what you think. Probaly the inner circle thinks the same way. As long as our neighbours get highly sophisticated military equipment under the false premise of fighting Taliban, primarily created by the Villain, to undermine the entire subcontinent, India dare not rest in peace for India shall not become a superpower.Western Government's livelyhood is at stake...

Pak Chin India's enemy by Atman on 2009-07-30 00:00:00
It is Pakistan which is continuously inciting China to attack India. Pakis have gone a long way to help China . It was Pak who brought China to have close links with the muslim world from 1980's and specially Saudi Arabia,Abu Dhabi etc. Today the communist dictator Hu is the bosom friend of Prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia because of Pak help. Saudi,Abu Dhabi sell oil to China on a much better term than to India. This is all because of Pak mediation. Pak has built strategic port of Gwader with 100% Chinese help. There is dual carriageway from Gwader from Karachi to China. Every educated Paki whether in government or otherwise have visited China at sometime of their life. Pak behave like prostitute to Arabs,China and to West for one reason- Enmity towards India. China attacked Vietnam in 1979 in the same way like India in 1962. But China got heavy beating from Vietnam in 1979 and since then China is quiet. So India has to be strong and India should not melt if Pakis smile .

Pakistan and China are both enemies of a rising India. Difference being how we percieve these as a threat to our nation. Pakistan should be treated like a barking (diseased) DOG...with limited capacity to cause harm but still irritating bit of thrash. They might make stupid moves of encroaching Kargil or sending some third grade pickpoketers from lahore to inflict some harm in Mumbai..etc. China on the other hand is a sleath Tiger which should not be ignored. However, taking headon action without allies will put India in deep shit. China will make smart moves ..either using other disgrunted neighbours or excuses..to de-stabilize our economy and integrity. Just my 2 cents

Pakistan is irrelevant, India makes it relevant by constantly engaging it. The right strategy is to ignore Pakistan and use commerce to bring it down to its knees. The most dangerous and shrewd enemy is China who has been using Pakistan as it's proxy and now moving to do the same with Nepal. This is the enemy who we should be ever vigilant about.

Without any question, it is China. China doesn't appear overtly hostile and that's where the biggest risk for India lies. While appearing to be not anti-India, China, in fact, has the most anti-Indian sentiment. This is because they believe that India is the only country that can be a stumbling block to their aspirtations of regional and global dominance. The sooner India realizes this, the better it is.

Both are hand in glove against India. One is sworn in enemy by its attitude and actions. Another is a kind of silent but backstabbing like. Only way is to find enemies within and chase out those outside perpertrators in India. Issue UID as soon as possible. Make India economoically, politically, technologically and morally strong. Improve infrastructure and eduction drastically. Wipe out corruption. Teach morale in every person. Many of our problems are political and the system needs to be corrected by changing the political system. Why there are too many parties to take political / personal advantage, involve in corruption and why can't we limit them when they are detrimental to the nation building. Our heads must be down in shame. Any body challenge this in SC or use PIL?

You are right the two enemies of India are Pakistan and China. Of the two India has to make sure the shrewd and cunning China don't suprises us again as they did in 1962. The Chinese are very good strategians and have a history of good leaders and they have a plan on how to win against India. They cannot be trusted at all. India needs to be ready and respond to show China that it means business or they will sit on our head. As we speak China has already surrounded India by building aval ports, highways and other listening posts to contain Indian influence in the region. Pakistan is quite strong since it is nuclear armed too...but I think India can deal with it smartly and defeat it. But China is a different kettle of fish. My advice to India is BEWARE AND BE ALERT ALL THE TIME against China. Have special force and special startgies to deal with China to surprise them in the event of war. India Zindabad

Who is India's enemy No. 1: Pakistan or China? by Jai Hind on 2009-07-29 00:00:00
Both Pakistan and China are very hostile to India. I cinsider China a major threat to India. China wants to swollow more and more of Indian territory such as Arunachal pradesh, Sikim, and part of Kashmir. India must enhance its security, and infrasructure in Arunachal pradesh, Sikim area, asap. We have to be strong in economy, defence, inteligence gatharing. It is not enough to win militerily, but our politicians must be strong in negotiations after the war. With Pakistan we have always won in militery but lost politicaly in post war negotiations, in the euthoria of militery victory.Constant Kashmir problems of 60 years is good example.India has to be vigilant at ALL of its border, air and sea 24x7.

Whom do you consider as Indias enemy No. 1: Pakistan or China? by AKS on 2009-07-29 00:00:00
Whom do you consider as India%u2019s enemy No. 1: Pakistan or China? - Pakistan all the way from Day One. China is just using this to their advantage. If there was no Indo_Pak fued China would not try any tricks but China knows India's faults to keep, all borders weak, weakly connected in communications and transport equally. Even after over 50 yrs of Independence, there are much border towns from North East to West Coast that people have only one mode of transport, while China has heavily invested and developed. Pakistan has always been used by the West and China to keep a check on India and yes they remain dangerous. Dangerous people like Musharaf who attack India and then talk about peace, and then brag openly about the assault on India TV Channels. I entirely support India's calmness but we should not be submissive rather focus on developing J&K, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, NE Bengal, Northern UP, Himachal, etc etc. Democracy, literacy and electricity should be the first priorty for them, while all our Rly Ministers have been busy adding trains to Patna etc the need is to extend trains to Leh and to the last town at far the northeastern region (help me with a name there)...but yes that is the priority. While modern research and other essentials are being taken care, we are still wary of so many regions that remain incassessible. No wonder then don't consider themseleves Indians...would you, when they have not seen anything else apart or heard or known better. Pakistan has a lot of support within and outside and yes they have the balls to wage repetitive wars against the "mighty" India, while we fight ourselves everyday within. We should be more strict in all voices towards all militancy. US came across the world to revenge 9-11 and we cant prevent from next doors. By the way how come no one considers Bangladesh? You can walk across the border with West Bengal as I hear

India's foreign policy is not well geared to meet our neighbours. Our politicians and the entire bureaucracy starting from the small peon to the highest officials are corrupt, as such each person is only interested in his personal life and his own personal development, at any cost. First India needs to create tough postures for corrupt public servants. Corrupts officials must be punished by taking away their entire weatlth and must be put to minimum substinence. and must be publicy humiliated. Corruption is the only thing that eats away a country. Second, we have to build more schools and colleges and university to get educations to every one in India at nomimal cost and thae goverment must give more grants in this area.. Invest in education sectors in Bangladesh and Pakistan and sri lanka and Nepal give them scholarships in India. These were the countries which share same cultures once we get into engagement and special friendships. Pakistan and Bangladesh must be brought into fold of friendship using the ulemas and the muslims in India. and Sri Lanka was not tackled well we allowed Prabhakaran to die only because he killed Rajiv Gandhi. The tamils were a big force to keep the Chinese and Pak out of that country and now China will just walk in Using the pretext of Buddishim. India must try to win the hearts and mind of Pakistan and Bangladesh and must use all diplomatic, cultural and historical avenues. if we fail then China will use the policy of divide and rule..I live in Canada and here pakistanis Indians sri lankans and Bangladeshis feel as one group and the chinese do not blend with us in any form. We have to win the hearts and minds of Pakistanis and Bangladeshis, If not we are doomed China is waiting like a hungry vulture to devour India and guess what we have no friends. How can China be a greater friend of Pakistanis, when they don"t share any culture and they are also murdering the muslims in Sinking. Islam came to India from this region and grew into a size so enorlous which is evident in India Pakistan Bangladesh and it is being murdered in China, besides China and the Muslims can never be friend because the Chines eat Dogs and eat pork for breakfast Lunch and dinner. So India wake up and correct your stupid policies or be doomed.

Pakistan is a basket case so China hands down - it's aggressive, very strong militarily and economically and not averse to using any means necessary.India cannot risk a nuclear war and does not have the military might to take on a full scale attack from China. India's military strategy has always been inconsistent and passive e.g Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Kashmir, Kargil. In terms of military hardware a amalgamation of ill fitting pieces be it Airforce, Army or Navy.

History is our best guide. It's China that has and is capable of inflicting most damage to India. Also if India can keep Chinese aggresion under tight control, Pakistan will follow. Other thing to keep in mind is China has grown too big to be pressurised by any or all other nations in the world whereas Pakistan or other neighbours can be pushed with world diplomacy.

It is incorrect to say that India as a country never attacked its neighbours. More than 500 independent rulers from Travancore to Rajputana and Kathiawar to Imphal will attest to it. In the past Ranjit Singh, coming from the Indian Subcontinent, invaded present day Afghanistan and made Kabul as part of his Kingdom. The biggest enemy the Republic of India has is herself...unfortunately. That has been the history of the Indian Subcontinent for thousands of years.

All in all, I think India-US-Russia-Israel-UK group should be made much stronger to address India's neighbor issues. Finally, India should be made permanent member of Security Council to take away some of China's superiour standing.

Unless and until India asserts itself as the dominant South Asian power both economically and militarily, both Pakistan and China will continue to be a source of anxiety, if not danger for India. I at this stage do not consider China as a threat since it is more interested in expanding trade with other countries than thinking of a possible conflict with India.Pakistan on the other hand continues to a problem neighbour who should be told quite firmly that enough is enough and unlese Pakistan curb its anti India activities, India deserves the rights to retaliate in a most effective manner. Pakistan has not learned any lesson even after losing three wars with India, the fourth one will be catastrophic for Pakistan and India should convey this in no uncertain terms. A tough approach is the only thing that Pakistani hawks understandand and India should speak firmly but carry a big stick when dealing with Pakistan.

Pak is threat to internal security by Desi on 2009-07-29 00:00:00
Bangladesh and Pakistan. They have resurgence of extremists mindset and can bring about a revolution or Jihad with the support of extremists within India. China is well equipped to strike with a big force and unlikely to do so because of no strategic benefit except for occupation of land. It could be long drawn war if initiated. China has economic problems that are structural in nature and can resurface any time leading to massive unemployment and unrest. They have to recover U.S. loans to sustain and can not be in bad books of "free world" ruled by Americans. This lowers the chances of China initiating a war. Pakistan and BanglaDesh with over-jealous mentality, weaker economy, and mindset and desire to be superior to India at all times, can create a short term war without any success. India needs to beef up its internal security which the current government is already addressing.

I vividly recall Bangladesh statement when India para-dropped relief supplies in Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan President made hue and cry and sought international intervention. Bangladesh came to the fore and told Sri Lanka - I am sending my forces to halp you against India!!! In the list, Pakistan, certainly, tops the list. First of all, India should not put its guards down at any time as far as dealing with Pakistan and China is concerned. Pakistan being a failed state is going through lots of frustration whether it is created by the Taliban/Al-Queda, JeT or JeM connections or just the bleak financial condition of Pakistan. Out of this frustration, they will create a war-like situation on the border when they want to divert people's attention. China on the other hand is financially strong, but their internal civil commotion movement is going to force them to take some drastic action again to divert people's attention from the domestic issue to the international struggle with India. So, India be on the alert. Even though I like to think positive all the time, but I am very pessimistic while dealing with Pakistan and China.

If Pakistan taunts at India, it is not on account of it's own strength but the prodding it gets from china to do so. Here is a clear analysis.... by Ravi on 2009-07-29 00:00:00
It's simple economics. China considers India as a serious compititor in business and a power house in the region. It is taking advantage of the needs of Pakistan and it's basic differences with India over Kashmir. It has armed Pakistan with all needed technology to develop Nuclear weapons and abated in arms funding to keep India very occupied in the Wester border. With constnat terrorist attacks right in the heart of the business centers, it is trying to make foreign countries afraid that it is better to do business in China than in India. While keeping pressure on India with incursions in the eastern border, building roads and making provocative statements whenever Indian leaders visit their own states; they are extensively funding all India's neighbours like Bangladesh, Myanmar and Bhutan, including long time friends like Sri Lanka & Nepal. Their eventual goal is to gain control of all these givernments and make India occupied in all fronts so it will be literally impossible for India to engage in threats from all sides. The plan is to make India spend substantial amounts on defense so it cannot be a economical super power in the region. China's only criteria is to reduce it's compitition in the region and abroad, as far as Chile and Brazil to even gain dominence over United States. The ULTMATE goal of CHINA is to become a super power and command everyone with Military might and economical control. It is not far. Pakistan is a small utility that it is using against India for it's long term goals.

Clear and Looming Danger by Rajan Panda on 2009-07-29 00:00:00
India's foreign policy should emulate that of China which has meticulously befriended India's neighbours with very little cost to itself and has been successfull in encircling India. India has not been able to associate it's help to it's neighbours and had not been able to extract enough strategic interest ispite of it's enormous help to Nepal, Myanmar, Srilanka. On the other hand, Pakistan is an eternal sore instigated by China(to contain India) and Pakistan internal poitics and the military finds it convenient to play along for their own interest. While Pakistani threat can be controlled by a combination of Hard ball Diplomacy, extremely prejudiced attrition for any misadventure( lesson from Israel) and strong border control and effective intelligence, the long term threat of enormous proportions would be CHINA. China's massive economy, enormous defense build up, it's strategic successes in terms of India's neighborhood, it's constant infrastrutcheral build up on the Indian borders, it's aggressive posture in AP, Sikkim, Bhutan etc. is a precuyrsor of looming danger, India must prepare for. Talk is usefull but cheap if not backed by economic, diplomatic and military strength. India has to catch up with China on all counts.

It is important to understand that china and pakistan are the two faces of the same coin. China uses its leverage on pakistan for destabilising activities in India. It does affect india economically because it has to spend heavily to contain these nefarious activities from pakistan. China keeps on expanding its economic muscle and has the means to continuously build bases in areas bordering India. I believe both china and pakistan are hand in glove with each other to undermine the security and economic development of India. India must develop the strategy to contain both the se countries.

Why look for or create enemies? by Saddened on 2009-07-29 00:00:00
Unfortunately India is not as 'peaceful' as it proclaims. There are NE states like Sikkim that India occupied by force and swallowed whole. India's role in creating and supporting the LTTE is no secret. The same LTTE that pioneered the use of human bombs which sadly was emulated by militant movements in other parts of the world. The LTTE that brought upon untold destruction in Sri Lanka a small country that had never harmed India. India shamelessly claims success in the mischief it played in East Pakistan - Pakistan did pay a price for its own inability to reconcile the language differences in its East and West wings. But India's role in creating the Mukti Bahini and its subversive activities in '71 created unnecessary hostilities in the region and bitterness in the hearts of people. India also implicitly supported the Soviet destruction of Afghanistan. People and nations make mistakes - India cannot undo its wrongs from recent past. But at the same time should look within its own self and examine its less than clean record before blaming neighbors all around. It does not serve anyone well. Friend and foes - within the borders of India and without- Peace to you all. Be good human beings. Wish well of others even if you dislike them.

I feel China is the #1 enemy. India's neighbours are aggressive towards India precisely because India is peaceful. They consider India a soft country. Instead of talking of peace, diplomatic resolution etc. India should take immediate action against any threat to its territory or citizens like the Israelis. Only then will the neighbours treat India with respect. Secondly why just deny fake claims to Indian territory by the Chinese and the Pakistanis. India should claim part of China and Pakistan. It should not be too difficult to find ols maps and other evidence to support India's claim. India should work hard and get back POK.

China also needs the water supply of Nepal (that flows to Ganga) and Arunachal Pradesh (that flows to Brahamputra). They have the technology to divert this to Tibet and China. Pakistan will get the Indus was once this collaboration materializes. India will not be a nation-state if they have it their way. Relying upon USA is stupid and USA has and will do what ot thinks to be in its best interests, and this changes like the wind every few years. India must learn to become self sufficient in defendinh its sovereignty.

Enemy who? by Raj on 2009-07-29 00:00:00
China never invaded India in history. They being a much larger country have their own problems. Moreover they are on the threshold of becoming a super power and at this point of time cannot risk a negative image. But many in Pakistan feel as if they are the inheritors of Ghazni and Ghouri and the natural heirs to conquer and rule us again. The unchecked blabber coming out of Paki media is proof enough.Hence Pakistan is the No.1 enemy.
