Muslim appeasement was an inseparable part of Gandhi’s quack doctrine of Non-violence.

Posted on July 12, 2010 by Santosh Bhatt's Blog

It is now well known that Muslim appeasement was an inseparable part of Gandhi’s quack doctrine of Non-violence. But many do not know why he, while he was in South Africa, adopted, or compelled to adopt this dirty policy in 1908.

At that time the South African government imposed an unjust tax of £ 3 on every Indian living in South Africa and Gandhi initiated talks with South African government on this matter. But the Muslims did not support this move and were displeased with Gandhi. In addition to that Gandhi, in one occasion,

Gandhi made some critical comments on Islam while he was speaking at a gathering. Furthermore, he tried to make a comparative estimate of Hinduism, Islam and Christianity, which made the Muslims furious.

A few days later, on 10th February 1908, a group of Muslims under the leadership of a Pathan called Mir Alam entered Gandhi’s house and beat him mercilessly. When Gandhi fell on the ground the Muslim attackers kicked him right and left and beat him with sticks.

They also threatened to kill him. From this incident onward, Gandhi stopped to make any critical comment on Muslims as well as on Islam. According to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, this incident was a milestone in Gandhi’s life and afterwards Gandhi began to over look even the most heinous crime committed by the Muslims.

An example would help the reader to understand the matter. On 23rd December 1926, a Muslim assassin called Abdul Rashid stabbed Swami Shraddhananda to death, when the swami was ill and lying on his bed. The reader may recall that Swami Shraddhananda was a pracharak (whole time worker) of Arya Samaj and he started a Suddhai Yajna to bring the converted Muslims of this country back to Hinduism.

But his activity was detested by the Muslims. A couple of months earlier a Muslim woman came to the Swami and expressed her desire to return to Hinduism with her children. However her husband brought an allegation of abduction in the court of law against the Swami. But the court quashed the allegation and set the Swami free. The incident turned the Muslims extremely furious and within a few days Abdul Rashid assassinated him.

After a few days of this incident, Gandhi went to Gauhati to deliver his speech at the national conference of Indian National Congress. The atmosphere was depressed and gloomy due to unusual death of Shraddhananda.

But Gandhi made everyone dumbfounded and began his speech by addressing the assassin Abdul Rashid as “Bhai Abdul Rashid”. Without caring for the reaction of the listeners, he continued, “Now you will perhaps understand why I have called Abdul Rashid a brother,

and I repeat it. I do not even regard him as guilty of Swami’s murder. Guilty indeed are those who excited feeling of hatred against one another.” Thus he indirectly held Swami Shraddhananda responsible for his murder, as he was propagating hatred through his Suddhi Yajna.

Moreover, he wrote in the obituary note, “He (the Swami) lived a hero. He died a hero.” In other words, if a Hindu falls victim to the knife of a Muslim’s assassin, Hindus should consider it a heroic death.

It should be pointed out here that the said policy of Muslim appeasement originated by Gandhi, under the garb of (pseudo) secularism was responsible for the Partition of the country in 1947. Many of our countrymen, still today, firmly believe that Gandhi was against partition as in the public meetings, he used to say, “Vivisect me, before you vivisect India”.

When he was saying this in public meetings, he was expressing just the opposite view through his writings. The reader may recall that, on March 26, 1940, the leaders of the Muslim League raised the issue of creation of Pakistan as a separate homeland for them. Hardly a couple of weeks later, supporting demand, Gandhi wrote, “Like other group of people in this country, Muslims also have the right of self determination.

We are living here as a joint family and hence any member has the right to get separated.” (Harijan, April 6, 1940). A couple of years later, he also wrote, “If majority of the Muslims of this country maintain that they are a different nation and there is nothing common with the Hindus and other communities, there is no force on the earth that can alter their view. And if on that basis, they demand partition that must be carried out. If Hindus dislike it, they may oppose it”, (Harijan, April 18, 1942).

The reader should also recall that the Congress Working Committee, in its session on June 12, 1947, decided to place the partition issue to be placed before the All India Congress Committee (AICC) for a debate and the AICC approved the issue in its session held on June 14-15, 1947.

In the beginning of the debate, veteran Congress leaders like Purusottamdas Tandon, Govindaballav Panth, Chaitram Gidwani and Dr S Kichlu etc. placed their very convincing speeches against the motiom. Then Gandhi, setting aside all other speakers, spoke for 45 minutes supporting partition. The main theme of his deliberation was that, if Congress did not accept partition (1) other group of people or leaders would avail the opportunity and throw the Congress out of power and (2) a chaotic situation would prevail throughout the country. Many believe that, in the name of ‘chaotic condition’, he tacitly asked the Muslims to begin countrywide communal riot, if the Congress did not accept the partition. Till then, Sardar Ballavbhat Patel was on the fence regarding the partition. But Gandhi’s speech turned him into a firm supporter of partition and he influenced other confused members to support the issue. In this way, Congress approved the partition issue (History of Freedom Movement in India, R C Majumdar, Vol-III, p-670).

It may appear to many that, up to partition, Gandhi’s policy of nonviolence and Muslim appeasement in the name of secularism indeed harmed the country a lot. But a close look will reveal, it has done severe damage even after partition, or to speak the truth, it is causing serious damage even today. During independence, the Muslim population in undivided India was 23 per cent and this 23 per cent Muslims, got 32 per cent land area as Pakistan. The most appropriate step after partition was to carry out population transfer, or send the entire Muslim population of the divided India to Pakistan and bring all Hindus from Pakistan to India. This population transfer was included in the proposal for Pakistan by the Muslim League and after communal riot in Bihar, M A Jinnah requested the Government of India to carry out population transfer as early as possible. But Gandhi was hell bent not to undertake out the process and said that it was an impractical and fictitious proposal.

Mount Batten, the then Governor General of India, was a staunch supporter of the said population exchange and advised Jawaharlal Nehru to do the same without delay. But Nehru submitted to the will of Gandhi and refrained from doing so. It is needless to say that, from the practical point of view, the said population exchange was urgently necessary and had it been carried out at that time, many problems of today would not have arisen. But due to the policy of Muslim appeasement of Gandhi, Muslims happily stayed back in this country, while Hindus had no alternative but to come to India as refugees or penniless beggars.

Many of us perhaps do not know that due to strong opposition by Gandhi, “Bande Mataram” could not be accepted as the National Anthem” of this country. In his early life, Gandhi had a great affinity for the song and while he was in South Africa, he wrote “It is nobler in sentiment and sweeter than the songs of other nations. While other anthems contain sentiments that are derogatory to others, Bande Mataram is quite free from such faults. Its only aim is to arouse in us a sense of patriotism. It regards India as the mother and sings her praise.” But later on when he could discover that the Muslims dislike the song, he at once stopped singing or reciting the same at public places. Hence ultimately the “Jana Mana Gana” was selected as the National Anthem. During the debate over the matter in the Constituent Assembly, Nehru argued that Bande Mataram is not suitable to sing along with military band while Jana Gana Mana is free from this difficulty.

In the present context, it should also be pointed out that Gandhi was not pleased with Tri Color, the National Flag of today’s India because the Muslims disliked the same. In this regard, Sri Nathuram Godse has narrated an incident in his “Why I Assassinated Gandhi”, which deserves to be noted in this context. During his Noakhali tour in 1946, a Congress worker put a tricolor over the temporary house where Gandhi was staying. One day an ordinary Muslim passer by objected to it and Gandhi immediately ordered his men to bring flag down. So, to please an ordinary Muslim, Gandhi did not hesitate to disgrace and dishonor the flag revered by millions of Congress workers. (pp-75-76). It should also be pointed out here that in his early life, Gahdhi was very fond of the Hindi language and used to say that it was the only language having the potentiality to play the role of the national language. But to please the Muslim, he, later on tried his best to make Urdu, under the garb of Hindustani, the National Language of India. (Koenrad Elst, Gandhi and Godse, Voice of India, p – 89).

A few months before the partition, when Hindu and Sikh refugees started to come from West Punjab in droves and crowding the refugee camps of Delhi, one day Gandhi visited a refugee camp and said, “Hindus should never be angry against the Muslims even if the latter might make up their minds to undo their (Hindus’) existence. If they put all of us to the sword, we should court death bravely. … We are destined to be born and die, then why need we feel gloomy over it?” (speech delivered on April 6, 1947

In a similar occasion he said, “The few gentlemen from Rawalpindi who called upon me, asked me, “What about those who still remain in Pakistan?” I asked, why they all came here (Delhi)? Why they did not die there? I still hold on to the belief that we should stick to the place where we happen to live, even if we are cruelly treated, and even killed. Let us die if the people kill us, but we should die bravely with the name of God on our tongue.” He also said, “Even if our men are killed, why should we feel angry with anybody? You should realize that even if they are killed, they have had a good and proper end” (speech delivered on November 23, 1947)

In this context, Gandhi also said, “If those killed have died bravely, they have not lost anything but earned something. … They should not be afraid of death. After all, the killers will be none other than our Muslim brothers.” (Shri Nathuram Godse, Why I Assassinated Gandhi, p-92,93; as quoted by Koenrad Elst in Gandhi versus Godse, Voice of India, p-121). In another occasion when he was talking to a group of refugees, said, “If all the Punjabis were to die to the last man without killing (a single Muslim), Punjab will be immortal. Offer yourselves as nonviolent willing sacrifices.” (Collins and Lapierre, Freedom at Midnight, p-385). There is no doubt that if someone reads all these utterances of Gandhi, he would take him either a fool or a lunatic, but we are worshiping him as a Mahatma or a Great Soul.

Gandhi believed that Muslims were brothers of the Hindus and hence they should never take arms or wage a war against the Muslims. He used to say that the foreign policy of independent India should always be respectful to Islam and the Muslims. Moreover, independent India should never invade a Muslim country like Arabia, Turkey etc. Gandhi also said that Rana Pratap, Guru Govinda Singh, Raja Ranjit Singh and Raja Shivaji were misguided patriots because they fought war with the Muslims. In his eyes Goerge Washington, Garibaldi, Kamal Pasha, D Valera, Lenin etc. were misguided patriots as they encouraged violence.

Gandhi’s utterances painting respected Hindu heroes as misguided patriots aroused widespread commotion among the Hindus. Most importantly, calling Raja Shivaji a misguided patriots put entire Maharastra on boil. Later on, Nehru could pacify their anger partially by begging apology on behalf of Gandhi.

The Muslims whenever attack a Hindu settlement, they, in addition killing innocent people, setting their houses on fire, loot and burglary as their routine work, rape Hindu women. It is evident that, they commit all such oppressions according to the instructions of the Koran, revealed by Allah. During the Muslim rule that lasted for nearly 800 years, raping Hindu women became a common affair. To save their honour and sanctity from the lecherous Muslims, millions of Hindu women used to sacrific their lives in flames. In the wake of partition most of the Hindu families became victims of Muslim oppression and raping Hindu women was an inseparable part of their attacks. When Hindus were butchered in Noakhali in 1946, thousands of Hindu women were raped by the Muslims.

Many Hindus of this country do not know, what Gandhi, the Great Soul and the Apostle of nonviolence, thought about this behavior of the Muslims. In the 6th July, 1926, edition of the Navajivan, Gandhi wrote that “He would kiss the feet of the (Muslim) violator of the modesty of a sister” (Mahatma Gandhi, D Keer, Popular Prakashan, p-473). Just before the partition, both Hindu and Sikh women were being raped by the Muslims in large numbers. Gandhi advised them that if a Muslim expressed his desire to rape a Hindu or a Sikh lady, she should never refuse him but cooperate with him. She should lie down like a dead with her tongue in between her teeth. Thus the rapist Muslim will be satisfied soon and sooner he leave her. (D Lapierre and L Collins, Freedom at Midnight, Vikas, 1997, p-479).

From the above narrations, it becomes evident that Gandhi was never moved by the sufferings and miseries of the Hindus and, on the contrary, he used to shed tears for the Muslims. His idea of Hindu-Muslim amity was also extremely biased and prejudiced. Only Hindus are supposed to make all sacrifices for it and they should endure all the oppressions and heinous crimes of the Muslims without protest. And that was the basis of Gandhian nonviolence and secularism. So a Muslim called Khlifa Haji Mehmud of Lurwani, Sind, once said “Gandhi was really a Mohammedan” (D Keer, ibid, p-237)

Is Obama trying to be Muslim missionary???

By Chuck Norris

Unlike any other time in U.S. history, our First Amendment freedoms of speech and religion are in jeopardy. As if recently passed “hate-crime” laws and a politically correct culture weren’t bad enough, now our president is using internationalpressure and possibly law to establish a prohibition against insulting Islam or Muslims.

Let me remind us how we got here.

Speaking for most founders in his day, John Jay, America’s first chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, appointed by George Washington himself, said, “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”

Two hundred years later, President Obama has already denied America’s rich Judeo-Christian heritage before the eyes and ears of other countries, as he publicly declared in Turkey on April 6, 2009, for the whole world to hear: “We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation.”

Then there was Cairo in June 2009, when President Obama vowed to establish “a new beginning between the United Statesand Muslims around the world … I also know civilization’s debt to Islam. … I also know that Islam has always been a part of America’s story. … And since our founding, American Muslims have enriched the United States. … So I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed.”

He goes on to say, “That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn’t. And I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.”

That last line is really one of the most unique U.S. presidential religious passions and missions stated to date: “And I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.”

Another big question is: What did the president mean when he said, “That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn’t”? It makes no sense at all to refer to a partnership between a country and religion – America and Islam. Why not say partnership between America and Muslim nations or a partnership between Americans and Muslims or even a partnership between Christianity and Islam? That comment is very strange to me and has a much deeper meaning.

Roughly six months later, in February 2010, Obama appointed Rashad Hussain to serve as his special envoy to theOrganization of the Islamic Conference, or OIC, an inter-governmental body of 56 Muslim countries that also forms an official body represented in the United Nations. (Where is the same treatment from this White House for countries that uphold Judeo-Christian values to unite and have the same treatment that allows them to form an official body represented in the U.N.? Or any religion, for that matter? There’s something rotten in the state of Denmark!)

Obama rejoiced, “I’m proud to announce today that I am appointing my special envoy to the OIC – Rashad Hussain. As an accomplished lawyer and a close and trusted member of my White House staff, Rashad has played a key role in developing the partnerships I called for in Cairo. And as a hafiz of the Quran, he is a respected member of the American Muslim community, and I thank him for carrying forward this important work.”

In 2007, then President George W. Bush explained the initial purpose for a OIC representative: “Our special envoy will listen to and learn from representatives from Muslim states, and will share with them America’s views and values. This is an opportunity for Americans to demonstrate to Muslim communities our interest in respectful dialogue and continued friendship.”

But Obama has considerably upped the OIC ante. Today, the White House purports from its website that special envoy, Muslim and hafiz of the Quran, Rashad Hussain, “will deepen and expand the partnerships that the United States has pursued with Muslims around the world since President Obama’s speech in Cairo last June.”

Again, notice the differences between the Bush and Obama plans with the special OIC envoy: from Bush’s mission to “listen and learn from representatives” to Obama’s mission to “deepen and expand the partnerships.”

The OIC members (including U.S. Special Envoy Rashad Hussain) pledge to its charter mission to rid the world of “the defamation of religion.” But the “defamation of religion” translates to mean “defamation of Islam.” An article on the OIC website explains, “Western foreign policy is considered to be the single most significant factor determining the attitudes of many Muslims toward the West. … Unfortunately, Islam often conjures in the Western minds images of authoritarian government, subjugation of women, cruel punishments of Shariah law and violence in the popular Western mind.”

“Unfortunately”?!

The world also just learned recently from the assistant secretary for public affairs in the State Department, P.J. Crowley, that theWhite House has repeatedly sent out as an American ambassador of peace the Islamic fundamentalist and executive director of the Ground Zero mosque, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who is being sponsored by the U.S. State Department for repeated trips to the Middle East, where he is teaching on Muslim life in America and promoting religious tolerance.

But doesn’t one who called the U.S. an “accessory” to Sept. 11 just a few weeks after the tragic event and one who still refuses to call Hamas a foreign terrorist organization seem a strange choice for a U.S. ambassador of peace who promotes religious tolerance?

It is absolutely no surprise, therefore, though gravely unfortunate and disappointing for our commander in chief to blurt out last Friday night, while celebrating the holy month of Ramadan at a White House dinner, that he is in favor of building the mosque near Ground Zero!

The president explained the next day, “I was not commenting and I will not comment on the wisdom of making the decision to put a mosque there. I was commenting very specifically on the right people have that dates back to our founding. That’s what our country is about.”

White House spokesman Bill Burton reiterated the next day about Obama’s stance on constructing the mosque: “Just to be clear, the president is not backing off in any way from the comments he made last night. It is not his role as president to pass judgment on every local project. But it is his responsibility to stand up for the constitutional principle of religious freedom and equal treatment for all Americans. What he said last night, and reaffirmed today, is that if a church, a synagogue or a Hindu temple can be built on a site, you simply cannot deny that right to those who want to build a mosque.”

But I could not agree more with Sally Regenhard, whose firefighter son was killed at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11: “As an Obama supporter, I really feel that he’s lost sight of the germane issue, which is not about freedom of religion. It’s about a gross lack of sensitivity to the 9/11 families and to the people who were lost.”

And Debra Burlingame, a spokeswoman for some Sept. 11 families and the sister of one of the pilots killed in the attacks, summed it up perfectly: “Barack Obama has abandoned America at the place where America’s heart was broken nine years ago, and where her true values were on display for all to see.”

Obama is not just rebooting America’s image in the Muslim world. He’s deepening and expanding Islamic belief, practice, culture around the world, like a Muslim missionary.

(Next week in Part 2, I will discuss how the Obama administration has changed course in just this past year regarding passing anti-First Amendment defamation of religion resolutions, as well as demonstrate how Obama has been prejudice in his treatment of Islam versus Christianity).

Malaysian woman fails to nullify conversion to Islam when 7, vows to fight for Hindu rights

By The Associated Press (CP) – 6 days ago

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — A Malaysian woman lost a court battle Wednesday to nullify her conversion to Islam when she was a child, but vowed to fight on to be recognized as a Hindu.

The interfaith dispute could further anger non-Muslims who have long complained that their religious rights are being sidelined in Muslim-majority Malaysia, and may erode minority support for the government.

Malaysia's secular High Court ruled it had no jurisdiction to hear the case as Banggarma Subramaniam is a Muslim and should refer to the Islamic Shariah court, said her lawyer Gooi Hsiao Leung.

Banggarma has said she and her three siblings were under the care of a government orphanage in northern Penang state when she was converted to Islam by welfare officials in 1989 when she was seven years old.

She ran away when she was 16 and got married two years later in 2001 in a traditional Hindu ceremony. When she returned to the home to collect her identity card and other documents, she was given the Muslim conversion certificate which listed her name as Siti Hasnah Vanga-rama Abdullah.

She has been unable to register her marriage or name her husband as the father of their two children in their birth certificates as she is listed a Muslim. Banggarma's husband must convert to Islam to legally wed her as marriage between Muslims and non-Muslims is not allowed in the country.

Banggarma said she was disappointed with the court ruling and planned to take the case to the Appeals Court.

"Why must I be forced to accept Islam?" Banggarma said. "I was born an Indian, a Hindu and I remain so until I die. They have no rights over me."

The welfare department claims Banggarma was converted in 1983 by her father and that she must go to the Shariah court to verify her status.

Gooi, however, said her conversion certificate was dated 1989 and that under Penang Islamic laws, minors below 18 cannot be converted to Islam without the consent of their parents.

Malaysia has a dual court system with civil courts for non-Muslims and Shariah courts for Muslims. In interfaith disputes involving Islam, the Shariah courts typically get the last word, which has upset non-Muslims who fear they cannot get justice in such courts.

If she renounces Islam, Banggarma risks being charged with apostasy, which in Malaysia — as in many Islamic nations — is regarded as a crime punishable by fines and jail sentences. Offenders are often sent to prison-like rehabilitation centres.

Minorities are increasingly becoming worried that their rights have become subordinate to those of ethnic Malay Muslims, who form nearly 60 per cent of Malaysia's 28 million people.

The unhappiness over racial discrimination erupted in an unprecedented street protest three years ago by tens of thousands of ethnic Indians. The demonstration emboldened the minorities into voting against the government, which returned to power with its worst performance ever in the March 2008 general elections.

Fake currency and its linkage with crime Origin of fake currency and its use

By Joginder Singh, IPS (Retd)

It is estimated that around 1,69,000 crores of fake rupees are in circulation all over India. Both Banks and Government are in a denial mode, because probably they do not know what to do.

India has become the victim of an other kind of terrorism from its neighbour, Pakistan. It is economic terrorism in printing and circulating counterfeit Indian notes. The Pakistani intelligence agency, ISI’s role in printing and circulation of fake Indian currency notes has never been a secret.

On its insistence, Pakistan Government has imported additional currency-standard printing paper from companies located in London to pursue its nefarious designs in India. Of late, Pakistan has been procuring currency-standard printing paper in huge quantities from London-based companies much higher than normal requirement of the country for printing its own currency. It is diverting it, to print fake Indian currency notes. It is believed that Pakistan Government printing press in Quetta (Baluchistan) Karachi’s security press, and two other presses in Lahore and Peshawar, are being used to print out counterfeit Indian currency.

The ISI has, been using Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to transport counterfeit currency to its conduits in Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The modus operandi of the ISI was revealed by two Nepali counterfeit currency traffickers who were arrested by Thailand police sometimes back. During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they were working for a prominent Nepali businessman. The fact that Nepali territory is being used by Pakistanis to smuggle counterfeit currency is well known. The first such expose was made when Pakistani diplomats were caught distributing fake Indian currency notes. One Naushad Alam Khan, arrested in Dhaka on April 24, 2008, with fake Indian currency notes worth Rs 50 lakh admitted his direct link with HuJI (Bangladesh) chief Mufti Abdul Hannan. It was found that both Khan and Hannan had fought for Taliban in Afghanistan.

Fake Indian currency notes racket is being carried out by using the network of underworld kingpin Dawood Ibrahim, not only in India but also in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal in close association with different terror outfits, according to one intelligence report. With Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh being active partners, with India in probing fake Indian currency notes (FICN) related cases, it is safe to assume that so far as the fake currency in India is concerned, its source is Pakistan.

Delhi police claims, to have busted a major ISI network, sometimes back, which was reportedly being used to pushing fake currency into our country. Three arrested men, by name, Nayeem, Wasim and Mohammed Muslim, have revealed that Thar Express, so called, friendship train, running between Munnabao in Pakistan and Jodhpur in Rajasthan, was being used to smuggle fake currency into India . Investigation, uncovered, that the fake currency was arranged in Dubai. Fake currency to the extent of Rs 33 lakh was seized from them. They have confirmed that the Indian currency is printed in Pakistan and illegally pushed in India through Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Thailand.

The menace of finely printed currency has achieved new heights, that quite often, the customers do get fake currencies through ATMs. The worst is that when they approach banks with the complain of receiving a fake note, bank official impound the notes. As per the law of land, the bank should lodge an FIR with police, which would investigate the source of the fake currency. Banks obviously have not been to cope with the problem.

According to one Government committee estimate, counterfeit currency amounting to Rs 169,000 crore is floating around in the Indian financial system. This has been denied by the Reserve Bank of India. From real estate transactions to ordinary grocery shopping, paying to sources and terrorist’s expenses, these bogus notes are being used. Even if this figure is taken 20 to 25 per cent, as correct, it is still a huge amount, and sufficient to damage India’s economy. "In 2008, the CBI registered 13 cases having international/ inter-State ramifications relating to the recovery/ seizure of fake Indian currency notes,"

According to the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB), between January and August 2008, 1,170 cases had been registered across the country in connection with fake currency. Bogus notes with a face value of Rs 3.63 crore had been seized. NCRB data shows 2,204 such cases were reported in 2007.

Investigations into the Mumbai 26/11 attacks have revealed that a large part of the money to fund the terror operation were obtained through fake currency rackets and hawala channels.

It is also believed that Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence raises Rs 1,800 crore (Rs 18 billion) annually to fund terror operations and that a major chunk of this amount comes in through fake currency rackets.

Intelligence sources believe that Rs 30 lakh of the Rs 50 lakh spent, on the attack on the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, in December 2005 was obtained through the fake currency racket. This is big menace, which should be tackled with no holds barred, even if it means walking with the devil till we have decimated this problem.

Fake currency and its linkage with crime

It is rightly said, that the poor of the world, cannot be made richer by redistribution of wealth. But, there are some, who seek a short cut, to riches through crime and use of counterfeit currency. Criminals believe, that whatever is worth doing is worth doing for the money. Nevertheless, the truth is that the wealth is the product of industry, ambition, character and untiring effort. The Special Task Force, (STF) of Uttar Pradesh, last year claimed to have busted a major international racket involved, in supply of fake currency notes.

It seized counterfeit Indian currency worth a face value of Rs 16 lakh. The gang leader, arrested in Lucknow with three of his aides, has confessed to have pumped into circulation over Rs 2 crore in counterfeit currency in India in about two months. The gang members arrested have been identified as Suhail Singh alias Ram Shanker Singh of Sikahira locality under Khodare police station of Gonda-the gang leader-along with Sharma Paswan, Vinod Kumar Misra and Sanjay Kumar Patel, all natives of Champaran in Bihar.

The gang was using a set of six women couriers from Champaran in Bihar and another set of four hailing from Nepal. The fake currency notes had a different serial number. It showed, that they had not merely been printed from a scanned image of a genuine note by using coloured scanners and printers. In case the miscreants scan a genuine note and print copies of it, the serial number of such counterfeit currency notes remain the same. Putting a different serial number on each note explains that the counterfeit currency was being printed at a very large scale.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that the counterfeit currency notes travelled to Uttar Pradesh from Nepal from two different routes: From Nepal to UP via Bihar and directly to UP particularly through Sidhartnagar and Maharajganj route. A Rs 1,000 denomination note was bought at the rate of Rs 500 to Rs 600 each while the Rs 500 denomination was bought for Rs 300 to Rs 400 each.

According to the accused, counterfeit currency notes of smaller denomination-like those of Rs 100 and Rs 50, were also available, but at a higher cost, as compared to the bigger denominations. The reason given was that putting the bigger notes into circulation was more risky. The gang used private vehicles to cross the Nepal borders while the rest of the movement was done preferably on public transport. To minimise suspicion, women couriers, particularly those with young children, were preferred to carry the counterfeit currency notes within India and were paid two per cent of the total face value of the counterfeit notes. A male shadow was also used to trail the couriers to ensure that they were not trapped by the police.

It is estimated that around 1,69,000 crores of fake rupees are in circulation all over India. Both Banks and Government are in a denial mode, because probably they do not know what to do.

Dangers of terrorism and a Talibanised Pakistan

By Joginder Singh, IPS (Retd.)

The problem is that military rulers have tried to present themselves as Pakistan’s last hope. But unfortunately, the civilian leaders have done so, as well.

In an audacious attack, on Pakistan's powerful military establishment on October 10, 2009 heavily-armed. Taliban terrorists with automatic weapons in battle fatigues stormed into the Rawalpindi’s Army general headquarters.

They have claimed responsibility. for attack on army headquarters attack on October 11, 2009, which left 19 people dead after a day long siege.

The spokesman for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan movement said "We claim responsibility for the attack on GHQ (General Headquarters). It was carried out by our Punjab branch...We have the capability to strike at any place in Pakistan... We can target many more important places." Again in Pakistan Punjab, suicide terrorists trained by Pakistan, struck again at FIA Headquarters, and five other places including headquarters, of a number of other security agencies, in Lahore, on October 15, 2009, killing 39 and injuring hundreds of them.

Over the past two years, more than 2,500 people have been killed in suicide bomb blasts across the entire Pakistan. It was hoped that after Pakistan was carved out of India, in 1947, Pakistan would become a heaven and a model Muslim State for the whole world. More so, after ethnic cleansing of the minorities, both victims and perpetrators are Muslims.

The problem is that military rulers have tried to present themselves as Pakistan’s last hope. But unfortunately, the civilian leaders have done so, as well.

Instead of thinking for themselves and the best interest of their country, every Pakistani leaders has deliberately encouraged the United States to develop a stake in the country’s political and military affairs. Pakistani policies are more attuned to US interests, than to Pakistani interest.

In turn USA supports Pakistan for every single anti Indian step it takes. India is the whipping guy for everything going wrong in Pakistan, whether it Balochistan or Afghanistan. Countries with the largest Muslim populations in 2009 include:

Indonesia - 203 million
Pakistan - 174 million
India - 161 million

Pakistan’s rationale both for creating trouble in Kashmir and rest of India is based on the premises, that it is the custodian of Muslim interests, everywhere and more so in India. Having tried four wars and after having been worsted in all of them, it is putting up a brave face, before the world, by fathering motley terrorist group, to wage a low intensity war in India, by ensuring their strike at all prominent places like

Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Surat, Varanasi, Lucknow, Jaipur and many other places. After having tightening leash at the entry points, India has been able to control infiltration to some extent.

India has more than once expressed its goodwill. But Pakistani rulers have forgotten that nemesis is one of the God’s handmaid. God’s mills grind slowly, but surely. US war on Taliban has driven both Al Qaeda and Taliban forces to Pakistan, as well as repeated attacks, on Indian embassy in Afghanistan. It is impossible to predict the precise, unintended consequences of any US or Pakistani action. But the way things are shaping therein shows, that neither US nor Pakistani Government has any control on the Taliban activities. A weakened Pakistani Government and a recalcitrant army and ISI, pose a danger to the Pakistani nuclear arsenal, a part of which might either fall or be handed over or seized by the terrorist groups therein. The strengthening of such groups either consciously or unconsciously, poses a direct threat to India, as India will be their only target.

Pakistan has never made a secret of its hostility and antagonism against India. It is a matter of record that US has been fighting battles away from its own borders, whether it was Vietnam or Cambodia, or Kuwait or Iraq or Afghanistan, despite mostly being outdone there.

These days, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq are its side shows. India has scrupulously kept itself away from international controversies in the interest of its own people. Wars, destruction, and prosperity cannot coexist with fundamentalism and prosperity. Pakistan is caught in its imprudence, indiscretion, misdemeanour and wrongdoing, where in one year, it had a series of terrorists strikes on almost every day, including the one on Sri Lankan cricket team.

Pakistan must realise, that it cannot undo geography and it has to live with the neighbours. Depending upon what suits it, Pakistan has been blowing hot and cold. Its rulers have been proclaiming that they would not support Kashmiri and Pakistani terrorist groups operating not only in J&K, but also in other parts of India, from the territory of Pakistan. However while generally agreeing to eliminating terrorism, have never taken any practical steps. Indeed, it appears to have been used as a subterfuge, to lull India, while planning and aiding terrorists attacks like the 26/11.

Now chicken have come home to roost. By obliterating the difference between its army and terrorists, it is turning some of its soldiers rogues, who have become extremists and jihadis.

Angered by the US attacks on Pakistan tribal areas, local terrorists, have promised retribution against the ''U.S and its proxies.'' The revolving door policy of encouraging its trained soldiers to join or train the terrorist like the ones, responsible for 26/11 is coming home to haunt Pakistan. Indeed in all major terrorist attacks all over the world, including in USA, UK and other countries, the signature of the Pakistani terrorists is clear.

Of course, this is not acknowledged, either by Pakistan or USA. So far as India is concerned, it is very clear, that there has been no change in Pakistan’s policy of using terrorism, as a weapon against India to achieve its objective of forcing a change in the status quo, which, it hopes, would lead to its acquisition of the Muslim majority areas of J&K, if not the entire State. This approach is just like the thin edge, to make similar claims on other parts of India and destroy the communal harmony in India.

Muddled Pakistani policies of hunting with the hunter and running with the hare, are recoiling on it. If Pakistan wants domestic harmony and peace, it cannot adopt a doubled faced policies, of spreading terrorism abroad and running training centres for them and expecting the Talibans not to bite the hand, that has trained it. Pakistani terrorists have already issued their dictate, that Pakistan should stop obeying USA and they will cease their attacks.

Despite Pakistan claiming that it was not only fighting its own war but also of the international community against terrorism, the truth is that it remains a fertile ground for terrorists operations and training against India. At least nobody in India, takes their claims seriously and they are only burning in their stew. What is being done to it, is what it has done to India. It should better look within.

Swamy G,

pointer: research on Jennifer Arul of NDTV. I had posted some stuff on her before. She is likely a go-between for NDTV and Naxal Ram, besides being a self-declared journalist-for-a-cause (i.e. christianism in this case).

Bodhi: Thanks for the link between Jennifer Arul and N.Ram. I found a small connection, dunno how strong though, but that led me to other connections. Wait for the weekend :-) I do not know if I should jump with glee or cry on discovering the various connections. And I am not sure if the connections are just weak connections, but definitely there exists something.

John Dayal
John Dayal, (New Delhi, Oct. 2, 1948 - ) is an Indian Christian activist and campaigner for Dalit rights. Formerly a journalist with the Delhi edition of the Indian tabloid newspaper, the Mid-Day, he has gone on to found and preside over the ecumenical All India Christian Council and United Christian Forum for Human Rights. Dayal, born of Christian parents from Central India, is married and resides normally in New Delhi. He describes himself as a "human rights activist" who is "fighting for the rights of Muslim, Christian and Dalit minorities" in India. He is associated with numerous Christian evangelical groups, such as Dalit Freedom Network[1].

He has attacked anti-Conversion bills passed in various states in India[1].

Criticism
He has been described by Francois Gautier as a radical fanatic[2]. P.N Benjamin, the coordinator of the Bangalore Initiative for Religious Dialogue, said that Dayal "opens his mouth and wields his pen only to spew venom on the Hindu community"[3] >.John Dayal was very popular among some anti-Hindu elements, such as the (now defunct) website Dalitstan, where his works were frequently showcased [4]. Rediff columnist Varsha Bhosle criticizes Dayal for having subversive separatist views and misrepresenting the Catholic Church in India [5].

But something in me does not want to. I am torn. So I took the path of not including them.
This is not about you.
It is about other people - your list's audience - who have not yet learnt to see the pattern, who do not know to identify christianism. And whose ignorance you are only perpetuating by concealing the most important fact of all: that of 'religious' (terrorist) motivation guiding all these seemingly random secular 'coincidences'.

Your list, stripped of this most important fact, will not help any target audience. The pattern is what needs to be revealed so that people can learn to recognise it and work things out for themselves. The individuals in your list are incidental: they can and will in future be replaced by other cryptos - who will all behave the same way to further their terrorism. Unless people can learn to pick up on the pattern of the otherwise-hard-to-identify hand of christianism, it serves 0 purpose. (Islamism is often easier to recognise)

Your being 'torn' is beside the point. I don't know when stating the truth can ever be an offence. I'm just asking you to state the facts which crypto names will not provide: that Prannoy Roy is a christian as is Suzanna Roy, that N.Ram's wives are christians, etcetera. The cryptos have hidden their identities behind Hindu names and symbols (e.g. bindis) on purpose. Why Hindus would go along with their intention is beyond me. Why are secularised Hindus so conditioned that they will not even dare say *what religions* are involved? The conditioning has got Hindus censoring themselves. Dhimmitude.

At least people should be consistent in censoring themselves. Therefore do not identify:
- the NLFT as being christian - it murdered Shanti Tripura and countless other Hindus
- the christian maoists in Orissa as christians - they murdered Swami Lakshmanananda and the other Hindus who were with him.
- various LTTE heads as christians who have murdered inconvertibles of SL.

Maybe secular Hindus' position should be that the ideology in all of this is really coincidence, not important?

Maybe Hindus should do what the psecular christian media does, and describe incidents as "the majority community was attacked by the minority community. Again." And refer to islamic terrorism as merely "terrorism".
And then, in natural consequence, follow the communist hysterians in deciding that history should be purged of communal events (since these were instigated by the 'minorities' of course) to make it less offensive to the minority communities' religious sensitivities.

Christoislamis feel solidarity only with their own kind (but will form temporary alliances if these would serve their long-term purposes). Secular Hindus show solidarity only with christoislamis, and will sell Hindu victims for this. Christoislamics never feel torn when they announce jihad or Nagaland for christ and when the NLFT murders Hindus beyond count. Quite contrary to secular Hindus. However the secular Hindu's sensitivity is not uniform, but partial: it feels pain and injury only when it comes to naming christianism and islamism since this might offend the venerable sensibilities of the 'minorities'. The secular Hindu's sensitivity obviously feels absolutely nothing for such things as this:

Large-scale conversions triggered a systematic ethnic cleansing campaign sponsored by the Church which lead to migration of Reangs and Brus from Mizoram to Tripura and Assam, who have since been languishing in different make-shift camps and demanding safe return and rehabilitation to their ancestral homeland.

More shocking is that the refugees were also deprived of their voting rights in the last November Assembly elections in Mizoram. There are now 45,000 refugees in the two states - about 36,000 in Tripura and another 9,000 in Assam. They are uncertain of returning to their ancestral land and their only hope now seems to rest on the Centre to resolve the problem.

These refugees are living under terrible conditions in the make- shift camps. Last year, over 350 refugees had died following the spread of gastroenterities and other diseases. Even now, paucity of medicines and food exist as quantities supplied by the camp authorities are not sufficient.

Sixteen-year old Maniram Reang, sheltered in a refugee camp in North Tripura, said, "Our condition is like that of animals here," adding "We do not know what crime we have done to live away from our motherland in such terrible conditions in refugee camps."

Similar camps for refugees are located at Gachirampara, Dosda, Anandbazar and Kanchanpur.

The recent bomb attack was intended to scare away Reangs who wish to participate in the upcoming elections in Christian dominated Mizoram.

Will always remain an evil yindoo.
Yes, concealing the truth is evil (and the error compounded further when you choose to do it merely because it otherwise causes inconvenience to you). To do so is wrong since you know otherwise, since you can do otherwise, since revealing the truth could help open the eyes of many and teach them the need to resist the menace.

It is a form of treachery, it is a crime against truth and against the many victims of terrorist ideologies.

QUOTE
But something in me does not want to. I am torn. So I took the path of not including them.
But I'm glad you no longer feel torn now, having made your decision. No matter about the many people dead (like those in the links above); they are sufficient pay for salvaging your selective conscience that's only injured when it comes to identifying christoislamania as the source for various terrorisms, subversion and disinformation.

Hmmm, there *is* something deep to what you say, though. It outlines a new Dharma for this new Age of ours. I should perhaps start following your example. But I think I'll defer feeling torn about covering for the criminal ideologies until it's your family/descendants' names that are up on that list of NLFT/other christoislamic gang's victims. You will not mind that, surely, as I'll then only be taking your excellent moral leadership as my guide: that it is okay for truth to be sacrificed for the sake of alleviating one's slight sensitivities when it comes to the obviously undelectable task of identifying and rightfully denouncing the greatest terrorism. I'm sure that when the times comes, I will have learnt to develop the required 'sensitivity' too. And to take the same 'path' too.

See, what I cannot do for the Hindus already dead, I am willing to do for you: I will then make myself into the same sort of 'evil yindoo' you choose to be now. I think I am very capable - to feel nothing at all for secular victims of christoislamism who previously were themselves ambivalent about other victims. Yes. I will be fashionably torn too. I'll make it look good. Just say the word.

The question that remains is only this: Do you wish me to look forward to this future exercise? You would not wish to play the hypocrite, I think? (Or you may choose to argue that you and yours are more important than the incomplete list of murdered dead above. I am not familiar with your/secular ethics.)

3. What's this about "nationalism"? Christianism and islamism are not a threat against nationalism. (In Nepal they are creating 'nationalism' as the anti-Hindu movement. In SL they have created a Tamizh identity movement. In TN they have created a Dravidian identity movement.) Christoislamism is a threat against Dharma, against Natural Traditions. They will use whatever means is necessary: Nationalism in Nepal, anti-nationalism in Bharatam, piggybacking with islamic terrorism against the country. Any and all means.

The ancient Romans, giving up on correcting the ceaseless christian intolerance against their Natural Traditions, reduced their expectations of them to mere nationalism too. The christians, who were traitors against pagan Rome, did eventually become nationalists: but only when the empire had become christian, of course. So whoever was worried about anti-nationalists need do nothing and only wait. Then they will all become nationalists in time. But that says nothing about the cost at which this will be achieved, of course. Or the sort of nation that will result.

Roy was recipient of All India Catholic Union LIfetime Award. John Dayal is National Vice President of that organization.....and the connections keep on going like Hanumar's vaalu.

Husky, Dont mind lekin, let SwamyG carry on his compilation It can be latter reviewed for other linkages. What you are suggesting at the outset will serve to delay the compilation which is the object. A complied list can always be reviewed, while compilation is a non-starter if full research is demanded.

Thanks, ramana

I thought I will change the red color to black after 3 days. Does that sound okay?

Indian Irony: Evangelist Dayal is on National Integration Council

Posted January 27, 2005

New Delhi, January 24

The Indian government has nominated Evangelist Dr John Dayal as member of the National Integration Council (NIC).

Mr Dayal is President of the All-India Catholic Union and Secretary-General of the All-India Christian Council.

Another Christian member of the council is Rev Valson Thampu.

The NIC was institutionalised as a forum for deliberating on key policy issues and to discuss effective strategies to combat the evils of communalism, casteism, regionalism and separatism.
After his nomination, he was made a member.

Yet there are today five Christian chief ministers in Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
One should add that the majority of politicians in Sonia Gandhis closed circle are either Christians or Muslims. She seems to have no confidence in Hindus.Ambika Soni, a Christian, is General Secretary of the Congress and a very powerful person, with close access to Sonia Gandhi. Oscar Fernandes is Union Programme Implementation Minister. Margaret Alwa is the eminence grise of Maharasthra. Karnataka is virtually controlled by AK Anthony, whose secretaries are all from the Southern Christian association. Valson Thampu, a Hindu hater, is Chairman NCERT curriculum Review Committee, John Dayal, another known Hindu baiter, has been named by Sonia Gandhi in the National Integration Council; and Kancha Ilaya, who hates Hindus, is being allowed by the Indian Government to lobby with the UN and US Congress so that caste discrimination in India is taken-up by these bodies. ( One can also add to list Ajit jogi, and Digvijay Singh both christian converts & also Pranoy Roy, his niece Arundhati 'suzanna' roy )
<- So another instance where Suzanna Roy is said to be the niece of Pra(n)noy. Which is it then, cousin or niece?

a stealth-christist, one who keeps a hindu name to fool the gullible;
much like anand sharma. the cabal around sonia gandhi is almost
entirely christist. i also heard that arjun singh's wife is one.

there is a precedent for this, in how south vietnam was taken over by
the catholics, who made life hell for the majority buddhists there,
during the reign of the likes of madame nhu. buddhist monks were
immolating themselves left and right because of the oppression. of
course, the communists and the yanks between them took care, so to
speak, of the problem by destroying the country.

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Sanjay

Who/what exactly does she represent ?
Was Soniaji guided by any divine considerations in nominating her
as the UPA candidate for President of India ? Perhaps, a wink/nudge
from the Opus Dei and it's representatives Valson Thampu, John Dayal et al.

A google search for "Pratibha Patil secular" primarily yields information
from Christian/Indian "secular" sources.

The singular achievement of Smt. Pratibha Patil in public life seems to be
her refusal, as Governor of Rajasthan, to endorse the anti-conversion legislation enacted
by the BJP state government there.

Does anyone remember the harsh criticism of Rajasthan and India by
Pope Benedict XVI on this issue, a few moths ago ?

What distinguishes Smt. Pratibha Patil from other crypto-Christians like
Ambika Soni or Girija Vyas?

Why not go all out and nominate Margaret Alva or Sr. Nirmala Joshi instead?
They could continue K.R Narayanan's agenda with impunity in Rashtrapati
Bhavan.

This needs to be seen in the context of Navin Chawla's elevation as
Election commissioner and the increasing belligerence of Samuel Reddy,
Ajit Jogi, Oscar Fernandes & co.

This has ominous portents for the Indian Republic.
Cry my beloved country, cry.

What Madame Gandhi committed was an act of political naivete: she surrounded herself, as soon as she became Congress party leader, with a clique consisting only of Christians -- eg. Vincent George, Tom Thomas, Tommy Thomas, Margaret Alva, Ajit Jogi, Purno Sangma. I am told she has always been an avid church-goer, named her son Rahul John Paul Gandhi (presumably after the most fiercely fundamentalist Pope in recent times), made sure her daughter married a Catholic; and, in general, made no bones about her strong preference for Christianity.

- christian valson thampu and christian john dayal happy together at NIC
- suzanna roy, nirmala deshpande, medha patkar and islamis for saving mohammed afzal
- antonia 'sonia' maino appointed john dayal at NIC

Christians and crypto christians in charge or with some power:
- Cryptos: Ambika Soni, Anand Sharma, Girija Vyas, Ajit Jogi and Digvijay Singh
- Samuel Reddy (crypto), AK Antony, Oscar Fernandes
- Sonia's chosen: Vincent George, Tom Thomas, Tommy Thomas, Margaret Alva, Ajit Jogi, Purno Sangma
- Nizhal Yoddha at rajeevblogspot2004 heard Arjun Singh's wife is a christian: "i also heard that arjun singh's wife is one"
- The Sanjay quoted by Nizhal Yoddha wonders about Pratibha Patil:

Mentions in the above are given to the following persons, the implication from the surrounding context seems to make these christian as well?
- Sr. Nirmala Joshi, K.R Narayanan, Navin Chawla

And Sanjay also mentions Opus Dei with respect to Thampu and Dayal concerning Pratibha's appointment:
"Perhaps, a wink/nudge from the Opus Dei and it's representatives Valson Thampu, John Dayal et al."

Considering it is from Rajeev Srinivasan's blog (same Srinivasan who interviewed Ishwar Sharan and asked the Opus Deiiiiii question), and the blog writers like Nizhal Yoddha are chosen by the same, I think Rajeev at least - and possibly his team - know a bit more but don't have supporting data to give for it. Hence they make informal references to affiliations and associations (like in the case of Arjun Singh's wife, mention of Opus Dei). And draw parallels between the S Vietnam case (or S Korea or Greece and Rome, for that matter). This is all one can do in the end with respect to organised crypto christianism. Poor Hindus.
At least Rajeev2004blogspot is not too squeamish to mention the blatant christianism in all this colossal mess.

India & its Real Enemies !!!

The mastermind of 13/12 attack on Parliament

The file goes back and forth
By Joginder Singh , IPS (Retd)

Our nation’s message should be, that anyone who attacks our country and its institutions cannot get away, without retribution. Had the terrorist strike succeeded, many of our elected representatives, would have died a gruesome death.

WHEN I was in service, I wanted some orders, on an important file, or which, at least, appeared important to me. I had a very good pleasant and hospitable boss, who believed more in gossiping, tossing papers, up and down, and socialising rather than working. After sending a number of reminders, I sought time to meet him.

Whenever I tried to divert the conversation to the subject, on which I wanted his decision, he would side track. Instead of remaining silent, I told him that I wanted his orders. He just smiled and said that I was young and enthusiastic. He classified all files into two categories, the one for passing the time by making the aimless queries and the other for doing the work. He said that the particular file I was referring to was Mann Lagani Wali File Hay.

I was under the impression that only some bureaucrats play games of tossing the files. I have been proved wrong, on this count, that even the best of politicians play this game. I admit, of course, with more adroitness, under the impression that public memory is short and with the passage of time, instead of taking a decision, putting everything under the carpet, would be the best course.

The Government of India, has exactly been doing the same, on the mercy petition filed by one of convict name Afzal Guru, in the well known case of attack on the blackest day in Indian History, that is December 13, 2001. It had sent the representation of the convict to Delhi Government for its views and opinions four years back and has followed it by 16 reminders.

Incidentally on August 4, 2005, the Supreme Court had confirmed the death sentence and afterwards October 20, 2006 was fixed for his hanging. Even Delhi Government has washed its hands off, by saying that the implications of the law and order situation, would have to be studies, in case Afzal was hanged. Thus the game of foot balling the problem continues.

First of all law and order in Delhi is a Central subject and is directly under the control of the Central Government. Central Government is in the best position to know as to what is happening in the country and in Delhi, as all intelligence agencies are under its control. Afzal Guru has been held guilty, in helping, in carrying out the attack, which left several members of our security forces dead.

He has committed a heinous crime on the Indian Nation. For that, his execution does not, have only a symbolic value, but it is essential to send a message, that nobody can commit terrorism and then expect mercy. To say, that his hanging, will lead to a riotous situation in Delhi, or elsewhere, ,is too pathetic and a shabby excuse.

Our nation’s message should be, that anyone who attacks our country and its institutions cannot get away, without retribution. Had the terrorist strike succeeded, many of our elected representatives, would have died a gruesome death. In addition, the message would have gone throughout the world that India was unequipped, ill-prepared and incapable of defending its own Parliament.

Those familiar with the British Parliament’s history may recall that a person by the name of Guy Fawkes had tried to blow up the House of Lords. He was caught and executed. Till this day, November 5, is observed in England as the day to commemorate the foiled attempt.

The present case has gone through the entire legal process and Afzal found to be guilty of masterminding the Parliament attack by the Apex Court, which has upheld the death sentence.

At the rate the Government of India, is going about whether to hang Afzal or not, the Government may like to hold a referendum to get the opinion of every India. The kind of crime committed on our Parliament is one, for which no court in the world would award any lesser sentence. Every conceivable excuse has been used to avoid carrying out the sentence. The main question arises, should sentencing of the accused to any punishment should depend, on what some people feel.

What is the point of dilly dallying, in the guise of their mercy petition being under consideration and keep 53 prisoners on tenterhook , who are facing death sentence.

Let not the name of the President used, that mercy petition is pending with Rashtrapati Bhavan. Instead say that the Government is sitting over it. The consequences of non punishment can be serious, as it is the Maoists and terrorists are having a free run of the country. The Government, must remember, that it is easy to dodge our responsibilities, but we cannot dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities.
